I run between 30 and 40 miles a week and have become somewhat proficient modifying my stride to be midfoot (no heel strike) and neutral. The MR-00 is extremely light and provides ultimate feel for the road -- not quite barefoot, but almost. It is a liberating running shoe for races or for confirming and training a midfoot stride. It not a shoe for daily training runs or for long runs over an hour (at least, I'm not there yet). After 2 weeks I went for a 6 mile road run. The shoes force you to focus on form. Not pushing it hard my first 6 miler and only focusing on form I was still 5 seconds a mile faster than my average 6 miler. I hope to condition my body to run 26.2 in these shoes. Also I am in am running on bad roads with gravel everywhere. There is enough of a sole to protect your feet from discomfort. Although you may think this is a light shoe with thin sole, the shoe is very soft and comfortable. I have tried it in my workout with weight training and this shoes give you a very good feeling of what you are doing. I highly recommend them. |
