We purchased two pairs of the XA Pros this year and both pairs have had issues. The 1st pair, One of the eyelets pulled out when the draw string was pulled to tighten the laces and the second pair seems to have an issue with sole sliding against itself when you walk so the shoes squeak when you walk. I really like the shoe because it has a stiff midsole which offers a lot of support and they just feel good on me climbing around the mountains of Arizona. I've had no problems with the lacing system except in a pair of XT Wings which is a slightly cheaper model. I enjoy the simplicity of the lacing system and just being able to slide the tensioner into place. These shoes last me a little over a year but I hike on pretty rough terrain - lots of rocks - and probably log about 20 miles a week on them. I wished they lasted a little longer but that hasn't kept me from buying another new pair each time the old one wears out but it's why I took off a star. The good part about buying a new pair is you get to pick some different colors! |
